Driving in Ireland is on the opposite side of the road from North America, with the driver on the opposite side of the car. That being said, Americans should feel comfortable driving as Irish drivers are very patient and polite-and you can get an automatic transmission!
Public transport is also easy to use in Ireland, with long distance travel possible with bus, air (via discount airline) and train. These are all affordable ways to travel around Ireland.
