Public Transport: Buses and Trains

Ireland has a great network of highways, roads and public transport. If you’re thinking about renting a car, you can rent an automatic, and Irish drivers are super polite.

Public transport such as the national railway system is a super affordable way to get around the country, with wifi on the trains. This is usually about €60 round trip for a three hour ride from Dublin to Cork.

Buses are also very affordable and an easy way to go cross-country. A ticket from Dublin to Cork is usually only about €13, or $15.

Once you’re in any major city like Cork or Dublin, it is also easy to find a cab.

Ballinadee is about a 15-20 min drive from Cork city center. It is not on an actual bus route, so if you need a ride to the village for any day on the schedule, please hit the “Contact” button to get ahold of Tristan. He’ll work with Ann and the rest of the Irish family to make sure we can get everyone out to the village!

Please note that we’ll be renting a bus for the family trip to Cobh. Anyone who takes a ride will be asked to chip in a little. (It shouldn’t be too much for a group this size. More to follow!)
